Question: HOW TO SETTLE MY CATS AT NIGHT?

That's the $64,000 question lol. If you have more than one cat, night time is mischief time for them. The minute I go to bed it seems like it's their sign to start playing. Give them toys and hopefully they will stay on the floor and play. Other than that, nothing will work.

I have the same problem. My cats like to go to bed late and get up REALLY early. And mine will scratch the carpet outside the door if I shut it so I feel your pain!

We try to give the kitten lots of toys DOWNSTAIRS to play with. She's pretty self sufficient now but every now and then you hear her running everywhere! I have no idea what she's chasing.

The other cat doesn't usually bug me until about 4:30 am or later. Once I move, I'm done for. He comes and sits on my chest (he weighs about 17lbs). He just wants his chin scratched. If I ignore him, he headbutts me or stretches and I can feel his claws on my neck. So I scratch him a few times then roll over. He's not consistant with the time either. My husband thinks he comes up when the light timer comes on downstairs. That might be true. I plan to reset it so the light comes on later in the morning. Trick them into sleeping later!

Try keeping all their play stuff out of your room. If they want attention, don't give it to them. I also got a timed feeder so they're not so hungry in the morning. You might want to get one if you feed dry so it goes off late at night (like 11) and early in the morning (like 4am). That way you know they're not waking you up because they're hungry. Those dispensers can dispense from 1/4 cup to whatever. You can make those feedings small portions. 1/4 cup for three cats isn't going to make them fat.

My only cat that sleeps like a human is my old lady, she's almost 13. She only sleeps with us every once in awhile but she's quiet and courteous compared with the other two!

Put em in the laundry room with 2 beds (cat) and a litter box and close the door/gate ETC

May go to a holistic yahoo forum for help from other cat folks. I'm your dog person. I only do natural stuff. I wonder if Rescue, Bach Remedy would help as I met someone who did use it w/pet. Still not encouraging as I'm met person in store. If I was cat person I wouldn't leave them outside as here we have lots of critters that would guzzle then down.....I always think prevent. Its very difficult to deal with cats at night. You let them do their work.

3 Cats makes them good company to work at night(play).. You haveto plan something to reduce their numbers.
