Question: When I print the paper come out with dark shadows?

you need new ink

It could be that your ink cartridge is leaking, it might need cleaning or your printer might just need a general clean. There might be some dirt on the rollers which is causing the shadows.

Dark streaks mean your transfer corona is dirty.

Smudges in in a consistent place across multiple printings means your drum has some goop on it (probably)

Pull your drum and toner assembly out.

There will be a hair thin wire running across the length of it. That's your corona. Along that wire should be a little slidey tab thing. Slide it back and forth a few times to clear any crud off the corona.

now, you can hand rotate the drum. It will be a metallic disk either green or red in color, you want to look at it at a slight angle so you can see if there are finger prints or wads of tape or scratches on it. If there are, you can clean this with a standard cotton towel, and a solution of rubbing alcohol and water at about 25% alcohol. LET IT DRY.

Now print an ENTIRELY BLACK page.
Now print a blank page, or a page with a single comma in the corner. You are looking for the stains. If you don;t see them, you are back in business, if you still do see them you will probably have to replace the drum unit....
